ION chairs by Gideon Kramer

New to the store are six gorgeous ION chairs by Gideon Kramer, made famous by their use in the Space Needle's "Eye of the Needle" restaurant at the 1962 World's Fair in Seattle. These fiberglass beauties have a twisted chrome-plated steel base, for an unusual touch. I love that the twisted effect was carried to the back post too. And did I mention that they're orange? What's not to love about that?

    1. I never have either. In fact, I need to do some research on the designer.

    1. I haven't sat in them yet, but my SIL says they're an ergonomic wonder.

  4. I love the orange, a given but am quite taken with the slight twist in the chair foot! Lovely :)

    1. That little twist delights me too. Some of the ION chairs didn't have it, and I like the ones with it so much more.
